If you are unsure whether counselling, psychotherapy or coaching would be better for you please click on the links above to read the full descriptions. Alternatively you can follow the rule of thumb below.

Counselling and psychotherapy allow the client to understand themselves more fully. This in turn empowers them to make positive changes to their thoughts, feelings and behaviour. There are many reasons a person would benefit from therapy and all reasons are valid. Examples are experiencing abuse, low self esteem, bereavement, addiction, eating disorders, sexuality issues, relationship problems and illness to name but a few.

If you have experienced one or more traumatic events and would like to tackle the symptoms associated with this, 'Traumatic Incident Reduction' will be of interest to you. This is a brief, one-to-one, non-hypnotic, person-centred, simple and structured method for permanently eliminating the negative effects of past traumas. The client will usually come up with one or more insights - often major - concerning the trauma, life or themselves. They may display positive emotion, but will at least experience calm and serenity, feeling no more negative emotion in relation to their trauma(s).
