What is Autism Screening?

If you’ve been wondering about Autism, you’re not alone.

Many people experience challenges with social interactions, communications, and, sensory processing. It can be hard to know where to turn. That’s where Autism screening comes in.

Think of it as a helpful first step. It’s a way to explore whether some of the things you’re experiencing might be related to Autism.

We use questionnaires and sometimes a chat to get a better picture of what’s going on.

What are the Practical benefits of an Autism Screening?

We understand that seeking an Autism screening is often driven by a desire for tangible change. Here’s a closer look at the practical ways this process can benefit you:

  • Workplace Adjustments: Our screening provides a supporting letter and report of your potential Autism traits. This can be invaluable when initiating conversations with your employer about ‘reasonable adjustments.’ These adjustments, tailored to your needs, might include flexible working arrangements, a quieter workspace, assistive technology, or strategies for clearer communication. The documentation provides the foundation for these conversations, enabling you to effectively advocate for the support you need.
  • Educational Support: For students, our screening report can serve as a crucial first step in accessing educational accommodations. Whether you’re in school, college, university, or another educational setting, this report can support requests for extra time on exams, alternative formats of materials, access to learning support services, a sensory-friendly approach, or, other tailored accommodations that can help you thrive academically.
  • Improved Focus and Productivity: Our report highlights specific areas where you may experience challenges with focus and organisation. We’ll offer practical strategies and tools to help you manage distractions, improve time management, and boost your overall productivity, both at work and in your daily life. We’ll also provide advice on organising your daily routine.
  • Access to Further Evaluation: Our screening provides valuable insights and serves as a helpful first step in understanding potential Autism traits. While it’s not a formal diagnosis, the results can be instrumental in your journey towards further evaluation. The screening results will provide a solid foundation for your discussions with these professionals, making the subsequent diagnostic process more efficient and focused.

What are the Emotional benefits of an Autism Screening?

There are many emotional benefits too:

  • Discovering Yourself & Finding Acceptance: Learn more about why you think, feel, and act the way you do, and find a greater sense of self-acceptance and kindness.

  • Easing Stress & Anxiety: Explore what’s behind your stress, understand why you sometimes feel overwhelmed, and find helpful ways to feel calmer.
  • Taking Control of Your Emotions: Gain a better understanding of your emotions, and feel more empowered to manage them and your reactions.
  • Feeling Understood & Validated: Know that your experiences are acknowledged, and gain a clearer understanding of your thoughts, feelings, and actions.
  • Building Your Confidence: See your strengths more clearly, and build your confidence in how you think, feel, and act.
  • Strengthening Your Connections: Understand how you interact with others, and learn how to build stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

What is Included in the Fee?

We want to make sure you have everything you need, so your screening fee includes:
